Bodies of Water

If you are looking to take the edge off with not only peaceful camping, but also a day or two spent at the lake, you’ve come to the right place.

Perhaps you are looking for a larger, more populated body of water, Sand Hollow State Lake is a meer 20 minutes away from Leeds.

National and State Parks

Leeds is substantially surrounded by many National, and State Parks.

Among the most popular of these include Zion Canyon (40 minutes away), Bryce Canyon (2 hours away), Red Cliffs Conservation Area (17 minutes), and Snow Canyon State Park (35 minutes).

It is always a great idea to camp a promising distance from the more popular parks such as Zion and Bryce- traffic and crowds can be intimidating and quite stressful in these areas.

So opt for a more natural camping experience- take your hiking and sight seeing trips during the day, and simply come back after your long day in the sun, to enjoy the peace of the Leeds campsite!

Other Attractions Near Leeds

Of course there are many other exciting events and opportunities around the area other than National and State Parks! Indulge in some year-round local events and festivals during your camping trip.

You will undoubtedly have the option of live theatre all year long at the Tuacahn Ampitheatre.

Located near Snow Canyon State Park at just about 35 minutes away. As well, some local restaurants such as George’s Corner, or Even Stevens, host local bands or artists to play live while you enjoy some delicious grub.

Marathons and Events

Depending on the time of year you plan to take your camping trip, you may be just in time for some of Southern Utah’s favorite events.

A few of these beloved events include the Senior Games (October), the St.George Marathon (October), or Ironman (May).

These physically exhausting events occur once every year in the town of St.George. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, another fan favorite is The Parade of Homes.

This exciting event occurs every February in Saint George, boasting spectacular mansions and beautiful homesteads built fresh for the taking.

Festivals and Fairs

St.George is also home to George Fest- a year-round, local monthly festival that occurs the first Friday of every month.

George Fest is the heart of St.George. Home to 3 main stages of live and local music, surrounded by crowds of people, local food trucks, rides and attractions, beer and wine, and a multitude of different sales booths.

Come enjoy a local brew or wine of choice, at the Jazz Garden inside of George Fest. Here you can listen to local bands and artists playing an arms distance away while sipping a brew.

Don’t snooze on the Washington County Fair either, less than 15 minutes away from Leeds. This one occurs in August of every year, on the way into Hurricane city. the festival boasts carnival games, rides, and food, for people of all ages.
